Parks and Soccer Ask Town to Rebuild and Fence Andrews Field
Andrews Field · Community Preservation Committee · Nov 2, 2026
Milton's parks department and Milton Soccer want Community Preservation money to rebuild Andrews Field, one of the town's two most-used fields.
- Who plays: it is Fontbonne Academy's home field on weekdays and Milton Soccer's almost daily in spring and fall. Lacrosse, Gaelic football and a men's league play there too.
- Why: a former Babe Ruth baseball diamond, it was never rebuilt for soccer, and the parks crew can't keep up with patching it, the department's head said. The town's parks master plan, due in about a month, finds Milton short of multipurpose fields.
- Fence: 4 feet high but unlocked, to keep out dirt bikes and off-leash dogs that dig for the irrigation lines.
- Questions: members asked whether Huntress Associates' May 2025 estimate still holds. The applicants said it does. The committee held last year's request until the master plan was done.
- Next: the committee hears five other applications Nov 2.
