Milton Schools Weigh Letting Police View School Cameras Remotely
Townwide · School Committee · Nov 2, 2026
Milton police could view cameras inside the schools remotely under a policy change the School Committee is weighing.
- Cameras: members still have questions and want them answered before the change moves forward. It is listed for the subcommittee's meeting after Nov 3.
- Residency: this policy covers how the district confirms that students live in Milton. Caldwell said residency checks are not happening now and expects an in-depth discussion. Reviewing the policy, and whether it is applied fairly, is one of the committee's goals this school year.
- Next: updated policies on giving students medicine, students carrying their own medication and physical restraint are up for approval Nov 3 at 1pm, online. They then go to the full committee.
