Townwide · School Committee · Oct 31, 2026

Fewer Milton High 10th graders met state expectations on this spring's MCAS, while the Tucker School's scores rose.
- Milton High: 66% of 10th graders met or exceeded expectations in English, down from 76% in 2025. Science fell from 85% to 71%, and math from 72% to 68%.
- Statewide: 10th-grade scores fell too, but by less: 5 points in English and science, 1 in math.
- Tucker: math rose from 51% to 63%, the biggest gain at any Milton school. English rose from 54% to 57%.
- Grades 3-8: flat districtwide at 63% in English and 62% in math, well above the state. Both remain below 2019, the last test before the pandemic.
- State rating: every Milton school is in the state's top category, not requiring assistance.
- Next: the district suggests instructional coaches, a regular curriculum review and more intensive skill-building in summer or during the year. No vote was scheduled.
